WHAT IS CABIN CREEK HEALTH SYSTEMS?

Cabin Creek Health Clinic in Dawes, WV, was completed and the clinic opened its doors 50 years ago in 1974 to provide coal miners with greater access to care. This location went on to become the first of several for Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS), now counting seven primary care clinics and seven school-based clinics across Kanawha Co.

Our Mission is to promote the health and well-being of all people in our communities, especially the most vulnerable, through health care that is guided by science, compassion and respect, and to contribute to the education of skilled and caring health professionals.

CCHS will never turn a patient away for inability to pay. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which allows us to operate on a sliding scale. CCHS Pharmacies participate in the 340B Program, which allows us to purchase prescription medicine at below-standard-minimum prices and pass those savings on to patients.

The integrative care model shapes the patient experience at CCHS. Our providers work together to enhance care by integrating primary care with behavioral health and other services. We encourage you to peruse our website and explore our many health services, including behavioral health, a black lung clinic, pulmonary rehabilitation, dental care, substance use treatment, women’s health, and pediatric/adolescent care. In addition, the CCHS Friendly Neighbors Mobile Unit brings healthcare directly to unhoused individuals in various parts of Kanawha Co.
