Maggie Wheeler, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

I’m Maggie Wheeler FNP-C, PMHNP-BC. I’m a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner; I assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness(es) in the adult population through medication management. I am a native West Virginian and received my MSN at Marshall University and post-graduate certification at WVU.

I began my career as a family nurse practitioner in primary care. Throughout six years of primary care practice, I saw the gap in care for psychiatric services widen. The pandemic brought mental health needs to the forefront, and I decided I wanted to further my education to provide the best possible psychiatric care within my scope.

Good mental health is the cornerstone to good physical health. I meet my patients where they are in their mental health journeys. My role is to help you decide if psychotropic medication is right for you. I strive to provide a judgment free environment; your past does not define you.

If you are a patient at CCHS and are on the fence about starting psychotropic medication, I encourage you to schedule an intake appointment to talk about it.
