Helping Shape Our Community for a Promising Tomorrow
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), CCHS’s mission extends beyond providing medical care; it’s about nurturing a healthier, more resilient community through innovative and inclusive services.
Mobile Unit: Healthcare on the Move
Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) has impacted the way healthcare reaches those who cannot easily find transportation through its Mobile Health Unit, an initiative born from the understanding that effective care must transcend traditional boundaries and barriers. This mobile clinic brings a range of healthcare services directly to those who are often left behind, reaching into the far corners of our community to touch lives where it’s needed most.
While the Mobile Health Unit offers medical and behavioral health assistance to those underserved, the goal reaches beyond acute clinical health. The Mobile Health Unit addresses the intricate web of social determinants affecting health, from connecting individuals with resources to assist them with housing and food stability to programs to help support with bills, the initiative extends a helping hand. This is made possible by a collaborative effort from many organizations within our community.

Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Program (CARP)
In response to the shadows cast by addiction, CCHS has initiated the Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Program. CARP takes a whole-person approach to addiction treatment, intertwining mental health services, physical healthcare, and medically assisted treatments. This program follows WVU’s Comprehensive Opioid Addiction Treatment (COAT) model, combining Medication Assisted Treatment with structured outpatient groups, and one-on-one behavioral health.
Educational Opportunities: Fostering Growth and Learning
Understanding the power of education in transforming lives, CCHS actively promotes educational programs aimed at fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through programs like Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) we invest in initiatives such as a high school job shadowing program and partnerships with low-cost Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician training and education programs. CCHS is cultivating a workforce that is not only skilled but also deeply committed to community well-being, all while providing opportunities for individuals to begin a successful career.
Building Relationships for a Healthier Tomorrow
At its core, Cabin Creek Health Systems believes in the power of collaboration and community engagement. The Community Impact Team at CCHS is dedicated to forging strong partnerships with nonprofit leaders, sector groups, and other stakeholders. These relationships are vital in creating a cohesive network that can respond effectively to the diverse health needs of Kanawha County’s residents.
A Vision for Accessible Healthcare
CCHS’s overarching aim is to ensure that every individual in the community has access to comprehensive healthcare services. This vision drives the organization to continuously innovate and expand its reach, ensuring that no one is left behind in the quest for a healthier, more vibrant community.
