Krista Clark
- Respiratory Therapist
- Director of the Breathing Center and Black Lung Clinic at Dawes
I graduated from WVU Tech’s Respiratory Therapy Program at Carver Career Center in 2009. I have over 17 years of experience in acute care, critical care, clinical care, and durable medical equipment. As a Respiratory Therapist my specialty is to help patients breathe better – whether that be by administering inhaler and nebulizer treatments, assisting with BiPAP/CPAP therapies, assessing and educating the importance of Pulmonary Rehabilitation by developing Individualized Treatment Plans, administering oxygen therapy, or performing chest physiotherapy. I also perform Pulmonary Function Testing, Arterial Blood Gases and Arterial Lines, Electrocardiograms, and perform Exercise Stress Testing to assess miners for State and Federal Black Lung exams.
I am the Secretary for the Appalachian Pulmonary Health Project Board and an Advisory Board Member of Bridge Valley’s Respiratory Therapy Program. Serving on these boards enables me to continue to learn and apply new skill sets to ensure quality care while building rapport with hospitals and clinics throughout the state. This will better serve our patients within these communities by allowing me to train and educate students studying in Respiratory Therapy for years to come.
