Emily Selby-Nelson, Psy.D
Director of Behavioral Health
Behavioral Health Provider
As a member of an integrated primary care team, I provide generalist behavioral health services to patients dealing with both health-related issues (e.g., difficulty managing chronic conditions like diabetes or making difficult health behavior changes like quitting smoking or adopting a healthier lifestyle) and mental health-related concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress). I deliver care through both same-day consultations during medical care visits and through scheduled brief therapy sessions for those needing ongoing treatment.
As the Director of Behavioral Health, I oversee the development and staffing of the Behavioral Health program at CCHS. As Clinical Assistant Faculty at WVU-SOM-Charleston and Marshall University, I train psychology practicum trainees and residents to provide services in rural and underserved areas. Although I provided behavioral health services at the Sissonville Health Center for almost 12 years, I will begin providing care at CCHS’ Westside Health site following its opening this summer. I look forward to serving our community by empowering patients to improve their health, experiences, and lives.
