Instructions on Southwest Chili

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Yellow Onion, diced
  • 1 Green Pepper, diced
  • 1 Jalapeno, minced (optional)
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 Small Can Tomato Paste
  • 15 oz. Canned Tomatoes, or 6 Tomatoes, diced
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth, Stock, or Bouillon
  • 2 tbs Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef, Onion, and Pepper. Once browned, drain fat from the meat.
  2. Stir in minced Jalapeno, Garlic, Tomato Paste, Diced Tomatoes, Beef Broth, Chili Powder, Cumin and Salt.
  3. Bring chili to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover the pan and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Serve with Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, and Cornbread, as desired.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
