Cabin Creek Health Systems announced today that the Clendenin Health Center facility will re-open Wednesday, July 13th and will follow its normal schedule of hours. People may call the health center at (304) 548-7272 for appointments or further information.
Since the Tuesday after the flood of June 24th, the Clendenin health center staff have provided urgent and routine medical services, including over 1,500 immunizations, from two tent sites in the town of Clendenin.
Although flood water did not reach the health center on the second floor of the renovated former Clendenin Middle School, it did impact the basement floor of the building and cut the center’s electrical power. Power has been restored and the clean-up is completed.
Craig Robinson, the executive director of Cabin Creek Health Systems stated that, “From the beginning of the flood to the current time, the staff of Clendenin Health Center have demonstrated their commitment to serving their patients and to caring for each other. This was especially evident when 17 staff and patients were stranded in the Health Center for 36 hours before being evacuated. Their spirit of mutual support has been carried on since the water receded by the health center clinicians and staff who have been caring for patients in make-shift tents and going door-to-door to check on residents.”
